I play hooky twice a year to go to Spring and Fall Carlisle. The place never ceases to amaze me. Even if I don't buy anything, it's therapeutic to just walk around 150 acres of awesome cars and shitty half-finished projects and crates and crates and crates of other gearheads' castoff junk. Here are some things I shot pics of today that I thought the commentariat might enjoy. You will notice there aren't lots of OMG A CHEVELLE SS AND A MUSTANG AND A CAMARO... I tried to get stuff that was a little more unusual, and, well, more Jalop. Hope you all enjoy...

This was awesome. It was, like Nice Price AND Crack Pipe from the same seller.

This Camaro was unique in that it was a straight 6 with a 3-speed manual.

Looking for 409 valve covers? What flavor, orange or chrome?

Kinja'd!!!

If minibikes are your kink, there was plenty to satisfy you today...

Kinja'd!!!

Barn fresh!

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

This struck me as particularly Jalop. For $3650, I thought it was NP.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

'59 Biscayne. The possibilities are endless.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Rat rod Buick beach wagon...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Orange Crush.

Kinja'd!!!

Apparently, this guy wanted $4500 for what amounted to a Cuda VIN tag.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I REALLY wanted to give this a new home. It's so pretty.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

pimpin'

Kinja'd!!!

Hmmm. Ugly but interesting.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Sweet.

Kinja'd!!!

The seller wanted every bit of $14,500 for this Nomad and was not willing to back down. PCH? NPOCP?

Kinja'd!!!

This, on the other hand, was a wagon I could get behind. (No, Wert. Not like that, you silly boy.)

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I was thrilled at the thought of getting these two in the same shot. Amazingly, they were asking only $7500 for the Caddy, but $11,500 for the Buick.

Kinja'd!!!

I gotta admit, though, the Bu was freaking BADASS.

Kinja'd!!!

And if you like Mopar-flavored tuna boats, they had something for you too.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

My favorite style of pimp.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

A little economical AMC love.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

No words for this one...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Just gonna throw the rest out there for your perusal.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

If you've been to Carlisle, you know this barely scratches the surface...

While I wanna call CP on that Nomad……..it IS a '57 Nomad and Nomads ARE getting absurdly rare, so it may be a NP…….i'm torn.

Carlisle is great, but some of the people there are crazy. Rust =/= gold.

oh yeah. that Cuda up in the pics is proof of that. also, i collect little HO scale slot cars... sometimes i get lucky and find them there, where guys just bring a box of toys and junk and sell stuff off for a few bucks. but other guys hear, "hey, i saw a slot car go for a hundred bucks on Fleabay..." so they find a slot car set in a closet, ANY set, and slap a $150 price tag on it and try to tell you how rare it is. jeezis, guy... i've been collecting and studying this stuff for 10 years. you found that in someone's attic last week. you really don't think i know whether or not it's rare? by the way, it's not...

A 400! And it's pre-cat! I'll bet it spins that 2.73 open rear for HOURS.

Very true. Also, HO slot cars are awesome. I had a set when I was younger. Everyone else had the bigger ones, but I liked the small ones. If I recall I had a Porsche 908. Just found a picture of it (the yellow/black one). Right in the nostalgia. God I wish I knew where they were.

Im 20mins tops from Carlisle. But I haven't been to one of the shows there in a while. I may attempt to sell my 300TD at the upcoming import and kit car show.
